Some basic terminology to know while you play slots:
Reels: These are the vertical columns that spin when you place a wager.
Payline: This is a virtual line containing the combination of symbols that determine whether or not you have a winning spin. Paylines are read from left to right, and the symbols have to be next to each other along the line to be counted as a win. Games may have single or multiple paylines.
Symbols: Are the images on the reels that create winning combinations for a payout based on the payline they fall on. Each symbol typically holds a different value. For example, a combination of 3 cherry symbols on a payline may mean a higher pay out than 2 bell symbols on that same payline.
